Kathy "Kat" Braswell is a classically trained 30+ year veteran of the orchestral pedal harp and smaller folk/celtic lever harp.

After the death of her lifelong instructor, Artiss DeVolt Zacharias, she became fascinated in the smaller folk harp and began to pursue instruction and knowledge of traditional folk and celtic tunes.

Kat is a former Chair of the NEFL Scottish Highland Games Harp Competition and currently serves as the Director of Jacksonville's First Coast Harp Ensemble.

When she is not teaching or performing, she encourages her ensemble to volunteer in the Jacksonville community at venues such as the Salzbacher Center, the Jacksonville International Airport, the Lightner Museum, Christmas Made in the South, hospital bedsides, and hospice care.
